Notice that the section [[Implementation/Index|Server implementation]] documents servers that may work in a centralized way without any protocol to communicate with other servers.
The section [[Protocol/Index|Protocol Design]] documents an inter server protocol. That protocol will enable a decentralized Ripple Network or even a Peer to Peer one.
